porcelain veneers 3d model

They say there are no shortcuts in life, but at Sehnert Precision Dentistry, we kind of disagree. We have all kinds of conservative ways to bypass elaborate procedures so you can have a gorgeous smile. One particular treatment that allows us to do just that is porcelain veneers.

Veneers 101

Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells that are customized to be placed over the front surface of your teeth. They are strong, stain-resistant, and can correct a number of imperfections including:

  • Teeth that are crooked
  • Teeth that overlap
  • Teeth that are gapped
  • Teeth that are too rounded, squared, or short
  • Teeth that are chipped or cracked
  • Teeth that are stained

To place your veneers, your dentist will prepare the surface of your teeth by removing a thin layer of enamel. Impressions are made to ensure that your veneers fit properly, then the impressions are sent to a lab where your customized veneers are created. Once they’re ready, the veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth. They are individually placed, so we can place as few or as many as you need in order to have the smile you’ve always dreamed of! This also means that if you chip or crack a veneer, only that veneer will need to be repaired.

You’ll care for your veneers as you would your natural teeth: brush at least twice a day (after every meal, if possible), floss daily, and see your dentist twice a year. When cared for properly, veneers can last up to a decade, which means 10 years of smiles for you.

How You Benefit

If you’re hiding your smile, you’re not living your life to its fullest. It has been proven that those who smile often enjoy greater social circles, reduced stress levels, increased endorphin production, and even more rapid recovery from injury. Smiling is actually good for you, which means that you have a lot to gain from seeking treatments — such as veneers — that will allow you to be proud of your smile.
