Dr. Sehnert and assisitant examining a patient

We can never replace your daily oral hygiene, however, no matter how committed you are to brushing, flossing, and rinsing, you will benefit from semi-annual exams and cleanings. During these appointments we will remove built up plaque that has escaped your diligent oral health routine, and we will diagnose potential problems before they become serious.

Good Oral Hygiene Is Important

What they say about “an ounce of prevention” is true of all aspects of your health, including dental health. We only see you a few times a year, but you can take charge of your own preventative dentistry by brushing thoroughly at least twice per day, flossing carefully daily, and rinsing vigorously each time you brush. You will avoid many dental issues by being committed to consistent oral hygiene.

Semi-Annual Cleanings Are Important

While a vigorous dental health regimin is a good start, it is impossible for you to replace a professional cleaning twice a year. Your dentist and hygienist are trained and equipped with special tools to remove plaque that has built up in hidden places in your mouth. You will leave with a mouth that feels fresh and clean, and you will know that you are taking every step possible to eliminate painful dental issues.

Semi-Annual Exams Are Important

Along with the cleanings, it is important to have a thorough exam twice a year. The sooner that a problem can be diagnosed, the more options there are for treatment. By treating dental problems in the early stages, you can avoid future pain and unnecessary expenses. Your dentist will use x-rays and other specialized equipment to locate the initial stages of decay, gum disease, and oral cancers that are not visible to the naked eye.
